Today there is something to savor
It doesn't take much to be reminded that even though life isn't perfect, life is good.
With an inbox of thoughtful messages in response to my recent post and challenges, I'm feeling so incredibly humbled and grateful.
May your struggles always be intertwined with moments of joy and peace, one sweet reader said. I've always found that to be true—today holds unimaginable beauty and possibility—and it's the very message behind my newest book Something to Savor (now available on Amazon!).
How incredibly meaningful and fitting to have that same message and such encouraging words, only days before this heart and soul project was published, pointed in my direction. A gift all on its own.
My hope, dear friend, is that Something to Savor will offer you the same encouragement when you're having similar feelings of sadness, like I was. Or when life is spinning crazily out of control. Or when days blur together in a big blob of "nothin' special."
This book is short and sweet (only 114 pages) and shares seven everyday gifts we can all discover for ourselves no matter how imperfect or unpredictable today may be. Its based on some of my most-read articles, and like all my projects, just as much effort and joy went into making it beautiful as went into writing it.
Straight from its pages:
The purpose of this book isn’t to convince you to leave this fast-paced world behind... Nor is it a self-help guide for clearing your calendar and deleting all distractions. It’s simply an open door, and perhaps a gentle nudge, toward a more treasured life.
Empty schedule or not, calm afternoons or not, struggle-free or not, there is no limit to the treasures hidden in this very day. And there's no good reason you can’t experience and enjoy every single one of them. A treasured life is a happy life, even if it happens to be a somewhat noisy and frenzied one.
Today, amidst all the commotion, commitments, and compromises, there is something to savor.
Today, alongside imperfection, regrets, and mistakes, there is something to savor.
Today, when your heart feels heavy and your gratitude list is coming up short, there is something to savor.
May this book be your reminder that even though life isn't perfect, life is good.
